Community Baptist Church is seeking an Assistant Pastor to share in significant pastoral and ministry leadership alongside the senior pastor.

The man we are looking for

Who he is

  • Agrees fully with our Statement of Faith
  • Meets the biblical qualifications for the pastoral office
  • A man of integrity with a servant's heart
  • Able to teach and preach the Word

What he has done

  • Served on a pastoral staff, or led a significant ministry
  • Led, trained and held volunteers accountable
  • Taken responsibility for results
  • Worked faithfully under a senior pastor

We are especially interested in men who have already served as assistant, associate, youth or other pastoral staff. We are not setting a minimum number of years. We are looking for evidence of faithful, responsible service.

The position

Specific responsibilities will be shaped around the gifts, experience and abilities of the man God leads us to, and may include oversight of ministries, pastoral care, preaching and teaching, and administration. Relocation to the Newport area is required. We will discuss compensation candidly early in our conversations.

Where we are as a church

Community Baptist Church is a Baptist church committed to the King James Bible and to preaching the Word without compromise. In 2024 we lost our building to a fire. We are building on a new property, and our ministry has continued through it all. A man coming to serve with us should come knowing this is a season of rebuilding, and a season of opportunity.
