CBC Bible Companion Privacy Policy

CBC Bible Companion is personally owned and provided by Billy Knox ("the developer," "we," or "us"). Community Baptist Church of Newport, North Carolina ("Community Baptist Church" or "the church") supplies ministry identity, branding, church-reviewed content, and linked church services for the app, but does not own the underlying app platform. The app is designed to provide offline Bible reading, optional study helps, church-reviewed devotionals, and links to Community Baptist Church's existing online services.
INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE
CBC Bible Companion does not require a mobile-app account. The app does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, payment information, or an advertising identifier.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
The app stores your reading position, display preferences, bookmarks, highlights, private Scripture notes, and private sermon-outline responses locally on your device, for the app's own operation. Neither the developer nor Community Baptist Church receives these items through normal use of the app, and the app does not provide a cloud-sync or sharing feature for them.
If you choose to use a backup or export feature, that deliberate action may let you save or share a file through your device's own sharing tools. That file is created by your action, not sent automatically.
Your phone's operating system may include app data in a device backup according to the backup settings and privacy practices of Apple or Google. The developer does not control those platform backups.
The app may also keep a local copy of previously downloaded public church content so it remains available when your device is temporarily offline.
PUBLIC-CONTENT REQUESTS AND OPERATIONAL LOGS
When the app checks for devotionals or current church information, it sends a request to hosted infrastructure (Supabase and its network providers) to retrieve that public content. Those providers may automatically process ordinary technical request data, such as: Internet Protocol (IP) address; request date and time; request path and response status; general user-agent or device/app environment information; and approximate network region derived by the network provider.
This information is used for operating and securing the service -- delivering the requested content, diagnosing failures, and preventing abuse -- not for advertising or cross-app tracking. The developer and Community Baptist Church do not use these requests to build a profile of your Bible reading, and do not attempt to connect them to your bookmarks, highlights, or private notes.
EXTERNAL SERVICES
The Church section of the app links to Community Baptist Church's website, Church Connect, sermons and devotionals, giving, events, and related services. Opening one of these links takes you outside CBC Bible Companion. Information you provide on those destinations is governed by that destination's own privacy policy and terms, not by this policy.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
CBC Bible Companion is a general-audience Bible app and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not include advertising, public comments, social messaging, or user profiles.
DATA SHARING AND SALE
The developer does not sell personal information. App data is not shared for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking. Technical service providers process only the limited network data described above, to operate and secure the public-content service, under their own service agreements.
YOUR CHOICES
You can use the offline Bible reader and its built-in study resources without connecting to the public-content service at all. You can remove the app's locally stored data -- including bookmarks, highlights, and private notes -- by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. Uninstalling the app may permanently remove local-only notes and sermon responses unless you backed them up first. Because the app has no account and the developer does not receive your notes or reading history, there is no account record on our side to export or delete.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
This policy may be updated when the app's features or service providers change. The current version and effective date will remain available at this page.
