The name AWANA is derived from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15). To produce such approved workmen, carefully selected Bible verses are memorized and Scripture portions taught to prove doctrinal truths. After all, it is God's word that He promises will not return void, but will accomplish what pleases God (Isaiah 55:11). |

AWANA Fundamentals |
The Message of Grace - The AWANA Fundamental is the Gospel of Grace. It centers around a work that has been done at Calvary where the price of sin was fully paid. To be saved a person must be told about the place where his sin account was settled forever. He also must be told about the Person who completed the wonderful work of redemption. It was at the cross of Calvary, 2000 years ago, that God forgave all sin. God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them (2 Corinthians 5:19). It is His finished work on Calvary that provides our salvation. Believing this gospel message and personally accepting Christ as Savior is the only basis for an individual's assurance of salvation. Our Eternal Safety in Christ - The glorious truth of salvation by grace, and grace alone, leads us to the truth of our eternal safety in Christ. When a person is saved, he is born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever (1 Peter 1:23). John 3:16, the first bible verse learned by so many, declares that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish. |
